Should Leeds take a second look at Nottingham Forest’s Jack Hobbs.
Leeds United may want to take a second look this summer at Nottingham Forest centre-back Jack Hobbs, with the defender set to become a free agent.
Hobbs has struggled with injuries since and admits he is not expecting to stay at the City Ground, and is prepared to leave the club as a free agent.
He was quoted by The Sun: “I am raring to go and I just want to make up for lost time.
“I feel I still have a lot to give and I have good experience of playing in the Championship over the years so I feel I could do a job for a team out there.
“I see old team-mates playing for other clubs now and challenging for promotion to the Premier League and I want that myself.”
Hobbs began his career with Liverpool and has experience playing for Leicester City and Hull City.
The 29-year-old would be an alternative for Leeds to re-signing loanee Matthew Pennington, and could be an upgrade providing he can stay fit.
On a free agent he might well be worth a punt and given a chance to try and compete for a position.
His experience could help young talents like Paudie O’Connor who are trying to forge careers at Elland Road and ease an over reliance on the youngsters.
Hobbs has more than 300 career appearances to his name and if he can stay fit he could push for another 100.
