Leeds United could sell Adam Forshaw in the January transfer window instead of losing him on a free next summer, according to TEAMtalk.

Leeds United could sell Adam Forshaw in January

The report published today has claimed that Forshaw could follow Mateusz Klich out of Elland Road next month.

Poland international midfielder Klich is reportedly on the verge of moving to Major League Soccer club DC United.

And Leeds could offload Forshaw as well.

The 31-year-old midfielder is out of contract at Leeds in the summer of 2023, with the club having the option of extending it by another year.

Understandable

In our opinion, it is understandable why Leeds United would want to offload Adam Forshaw in the January transfer window and get some money.

The 31-year-old’s career at Leeds has stagnated following his long-term injury.

The injury that Forshaw sustained in the 2019-20 season has really affected his playing time at Leeds.

The Englishman has made only three substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played once in the Carabao Cup so far this season.

Forshaw started 17 times in the Premier League for Leeds last season.

There is no doubt about the ability of Forshaw, who former Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa reportedly thought ‘is tailor-made for a Champions League team’, according to The Athletic journalist Phil Hay on his Podcast.

It’s just that the midfielder has struggled with fitness issues.
