These are exciting times for Leeds United fans.
Not only are they back in the Premier League after a 16-year absence, but with that comes a lot of financial rewards.
The Whites’ managing director Angus Kinnear revealed last weekend that promotion back to the top flight is worth nine figures to Leeds and no doubt a lot of exciting players will be linked with moves to Elland Road.
Thiago Almada is one of the lesser-known talents reportedly on United’s radar [Ole]. He isn’t a big name, but he might just be a very big player.
Goal.com placed the Velez Sarsfield attacker as 19th in their list of 50 of the world’s best players born after January 1 in 2001.
Interestingly, the 19-year-old Argentine starlet placed higher in the list than Billy Gilmour [33rd], Troy Parrott [40th] and Curtis Jones [27th].
That doesn’t mean he’ll have a better career than any of those three, but it does reflect his promise and working under a coach of Marcelo Bielsa’s experience could perhaps do wonders for him.
Almada absolutely won’t be the most exciting player linked with a move to Leeds this summer in terms of profile, but he’s clearly a fine talent and it’ll be fascinating to see if the teenager – who said today that he wants to play under Bielsa [TyC Sports] – winds up West Yorkshire.
