This speculation about Leeds United signing Ryan Kent from Rangers just isn’t going away.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Elland Road on and off for the guts of a year.
And in April, The Scottish Sun reported that Leeds were going back for the Rangers winger in what would be a £15 million deal.
There hadn’t been much written about Kent moving to West Yorkshire since then.
But with a few weeks left in the transfer window, it’s warming up again.
The Athletic reported on Thursday that the Liverpool academy product is still very much on the Whites’ hit list – especially because Steven Gerrard, his manager at Ibrox, may have to sell the player for financial reasons.
Sensational
A sale would devastate Gerrard, who labelled the player – a £7.5 million signing in 2019 – as ‘sensational‘.
And with Marcelo Bielsa reportedly being a fan himself, he probably agrees with Gerrard on that front.
Kent’s form has been erratic – and quite bog-standard – over the past three games and it seems plausible that he is thinking about a departure from Glasgow, as suggested by Charlie Adam this week.
