Leeds United could reportedly make a move to sign Brazil international Pedro, who has already featured at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

According to Coluna do Fla, the 25-year-old Flamengo star is on Leeds’ radar, with the report stating that Jesse Marsch’s side ‘dream’ of signing Pedro in January, with the Whites eager to add more firepower and goals to their attacking ranks.

With an incredible 29 goals and ten assists for the Brazilian giants this year, Pedro heads to Qatar as one of the South American giants’ in-form players. And a move in January is now seemingly on the cards, with Leeds making an early push to sign the forward.

Naturally a centre-forward but able to play out on the left if needed, Pedro would be quite a coup for Leeds if the Whites can beat rival teams to the attacker’s signature. However, if the forward impresses at the World Cup, there’s every chance that the Yorkshire side could miss out on the Rio-born talent.

Indeed, the nature of the World Cup means that players who star at the competition go on to attract plenty of interest and could go on to be sold for well above their market value. And for Leeds, they will be hopeful this doesn’t happen with Pedro with Brazil.

Nevertheless, Leeds could find themselves favourites to sign Pedro if the attacker has a quiet World Cup. With a potential deal on the cards in January if the Whites can convince the Brazilian superstar to swap Rio de Janeiro for Yorkshire.

Pedro’s record with Flamengo this year speaks for itself, with the attacker one of the best players outside of Europe in 2022 and now set for a starring role with Brazil at the World Cup. And it’s because of this why the forward will be such a coup for Leeds in the January window.

After all, Leeds need an attacker if they’re to clearly break away from the pack fighting from relegation in the Premier League. And a forward with as much quality as Pedro will be an exciting addition for the Whites and a move that could define their season for the better.
