Leeds have today confirmed on their official website that Tyler Denton has returned from his loan spell from Port Vale due to family reasons and will rejoin Thomas Christiansen’s squad this week.

Denton joined the League Two side on a season-long loan deal in the summer, and went on to make 15 appearances for Vale in the league, while playing another six games in the various cup competitions.

However, he has left Neil Aspin’s side ahead of the second-half of the campaign, with Leeds confirming on their official website that Denton has returned to Elland Road.

The confirmation does not go into too much detail as to why Denton’s loan was cut short, but does suggest that family issues are a factor, and that he will be involved with the first-team squad upon his return.

If Denton is ready to play, then it may not be a surprise if Christiansen is keen to have a look at him given the issues that Leeds have had at left-back throughout the season so far.

The 22-year-old introduced himself into the first-team in spectacular fashion last season when he scored the stunning winner in the League Cup clash at Luton, and Christiansen – who will not be able to select him for this weekend’s FA Cup third round tie against Newport County as he has already represented Port Vale in the competition – may be hoping that he shows some glimpses of that potential in the coming months.
