Leeds United are confident that Jack Harrison will sign a new contract and will not move to Newcastle United, according to TEAMtalk.

The report has claimed that Leeds want to hand former Manchester City prospect Harrison a new deal and are confident that the winner will put pen to paper on fresh terms ‘sooner rather than later’.

Earlier this week, TEAMtalk claimed that Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe admires Harrison, but he is a back-up to the Magpies’ number one winger transfer target Leandro Trossard.

Could Newcastle sign Jack Harrison from Leeds?

In our view, Newcastle United could be able to sign Jack Harrison from Leeds United in the summer of 2023 if the winger has not signed a new contract by then.

Yes, Harrison has been at Leeds for a while now and is settled at Elland Road, but Newcastle are going places.

The Magpies could end up in the Premier League top four this season and play in the UEFA Champions League next campaign.

Could Harrison – described as ‘fantastic” by Leeds head coach Jesse Marsch in Leeds Live – really turn down the chance to move to a club like that?

Moreover, Newcastle are a very wealthy club and could pay the winger much more than Leeds can.

We think that Leeds should try to convince Harrison to sign a new deal in the coming weeks so that if Newcastle do come calling in the summer of 2023, then they will be able to ask for a hefty transfer fee.
