Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United and Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton are interested in signing James McAtee from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.
The report has claimed that Leeds and Southampton both want to sign Manchester City midfielder McAtee this summer.
The youngster could be used to negotiations between Premier League champions City and Leeds over the transfer of England international midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
City reportedly wanted to sign Phillips this summer.
Leeds and Southampton target James McAtee is very impressive
In our view, Leeds United or Southampton would be a better team with Manchester City midfielder James McAtee in it.
The 19-year-old has limited experience in the City first team, but he has done extremely well for the Citizens’ youth side.

As reported by The Daily Mail, McAtee scored 17 goals in 22 Premier League 2 matches for the City Under-23 side last season and was named as the Premier League 2 Player of the Year.
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville likened the England Under-21 international midfielder to City legend David Silva, as quoted in The Sun in November 2021.
Now, with City interested in Phillips, Leeds clearly have the advantage over Southampton in the race for McAtee.
