Leeds are leaving it late over Garry Monk’s future.

Leeds United won again at the weekend, and co-owner Andrea Radrizzani sought to follow up the important result by assuring fans that manager Garry Monk’s future is in hand.

Monk is on a one year contract which is set to expire in June, and there is so far no progress on a deal.

Radrizzani downplayed the notion this could be a problem, simply stating that there is plenty of time to resolve issues once the season ends.

In the opinion of many, there is no decision to make over Garry Monk.

He has transformed the team from being mid-table also rans to play-off hopefuls who have been as high as third place at one stage earlier this season.

Whatever happens from here, Monk has performed above expectations and defied his limited resources, and deserves another crack at it in 2017/18, whatever division Leeds are in.

Radrizzani’s laid back message does not represent the tricky position Leeds are in with regard to Monk.

The head coach is hot property, and was not backed in the transfer market in January.
