Leeds United co-owner Andrea Radrizzani has given little away regarding his plans for the club since buying a 50 per cent stake in January.

January transfer activity was relatively low key with just loanees brought in, but permanent deals for Pablo Hernandez and Pontus Jansson were secured.

Radrizzani has kept a low profile, but has now shared one of his objectives, to re-establish a women’s team at the club.

Leeds United had a women’s team until former chairman Ken Bates cut funding in 2005, although the team still exists.

Sponsorship was arranged and after years of back and forth, Leeds Ladies FC are independent from the club, severing all ties in 2014 having renamed for the third time in a decade.

Whether Radrizzani plans to bring back the same club ‘in house’ or create another from scratch is unclear, but he should not rule anything out at this early stage.
