Leeds United still want Charles De Ketelaere and have contacted AC Milan to register their interested in the struggling Belgian talent.
The Whites spent a large chunk of the summer transfer window chasing De Ketelaere.
The Athletic reported in June that Leeds were pursuing a deal to sign De Ketelaere from Club Brugge.
Fabrizio Romano claimed that Leeds left an offer worth €35million (£30million) on the table, hoping that they would eventually win the race.
Instead, AC Milan were able to secure a deal more than a month after Leeds first registered their interest.

Leeds United still want Charles De Ketelaere
That should have been the end of it but Leeds suddenly have hope again.
TEAMtalk report that Leeds have made contact with AC Milan as they ask to be kept informed about De Ketelaere’s future.
It’s stated that Leeds have made it clear that they would be keen if De Ketelaere becomes available, even if only on loan.
Milan have so far indicated that they have no plans to let De Ketelaere leave just months after making his move to the San Siro.
Leeds clearly still rate De Ketelaere highly but they have little chance of convincing Milan right now.
The Belgian talent headed to Italy having thrived not only as a striker but also as an attacking midfielder.
Yet De Ketelaere hasn’t scored a single goal in 13 Serie A games this season, registering just the one assist in 576 minutes.
Italian media outlets have criticised De Ketelaere as ‘shy’ and ‘afraid’ in a Milan shirt, seemingly struggling with the jump in expectation levels.
Milan ultimately made a long-term investment in De Ketelaere though and the 6ft 4in 21-year-old will be backed to come good eventually.
Leeds will be watching closely but unless things go terrible wrong between now and next summer, they seemingly have little chance of a deal.
