Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani seems to admire Brighton and Hove Albion.

Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has suggested to The Times that he likes the model of Brighton and Hove Albion.

Brighton are not exactly a ‘giant’ of English football and do not have a global fanbase as many clubs in England do, but the Seagulls will play in the Premier League this season.

Since Chris Hughton became the Seagulls’ manager in 2014, the team have progressed and developed steadily on the pitch.

Brighton do not spend too much on transfers, but they still managed to finish in the top two of the Championship last season and won automatic promotion to the Premier League for the 2017-18 campaign.

Leeds chairman Radrizzani has revealed that his model for success is Brighton.

“I think my model is Brighton, which has built their project over time and has finally achieved its goal,” Radrizzani told The Times.

Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in England and get more than 30,000 fans on occasions for their home matches at Elland Road, but the Whites have not featured in the Premier League since 2004.

The West Yorkshire outfit are a sleeping giant, but perhaps things will change this season.

Having narrowly failed to end up in the top six of the Championship last season, the Whites will be determined to clinch a playoff spot this time around.
