The Whites coach’s assessment of the 6ft 4in Leeds ace should interest Elland Road boss Marcelo Bielsa, but he must be quick to act.

Leeds United Under-23s coach Carlos Corberan has piled the praise on young goalkeeper Kamil Miazek in comments that leave the door open for Marcelo Bielsa to consider him for a first-team place in future.
The 22-year-old played a key role in ensuring that the Professional Development League final against Birmingham City’s Under-23s went all the way with several smart saves during the goalless 120 minutes at Elland Road.
On top of that, Miazek did not stop there – his two saves in the ensuing penalty shootout ensured that the Whites emerged triumphant from the game and lifted the trophy.
“The positive thing with Kamil is that I don’t need to say anything to him [before penalties], because he’s someone with enough intuition to feel where the penalty will go,” said Corberan of the former Feyenoord stopper to the official Leeds website.
“With these intuition skills you don’t need to help him, you only need to trust in him, and I think it was a very positive moment for him, and I’m especially happy for him, because he’s an amazing guy, who is always working hard for these type of moments.”
Admittedly, the Whites are blessed with numerous top goalkeepers at senior and academy level, with Miazek having vied with Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Will Huffer for much of the campaign, while Harrison Male and Joshua Rae have also had time between the sticks for the U23s.

However, when it comes to keepers, it’s important that they convey confidence and boast talent to the point that you can trust in them even ahead of something as tense and important as a penalty shootout, which is what Corberan has said of the 6ft 4in ace, who is yet to make a first-team appearance (Transfermarkt).
However, with Miazek’s contract up at the end of the season (official website), Bielsa must come to a decision quickly in terms of whether he sees the youngster as a potential first-team asset in future and step in with regards to discussions with the academy and with the board regarding a new deal.
