Leeds United should consider a move for Anthony Evans.

Last month The Mail reported Everton were eyeing a move for promising Leeds United striker Mallik Wilks.

Wilks had been impressing on loan at Accrington Stanley and has been recalled from his loan, but Leeds have no intention of giving away a player who signed a new contract last summer.

Now an opportunity has arisen for Leeds to turn the tables on Everton, and potentially sign one of their own promising strikers.

HITC Sport understands a host of unnamed Championship clubs are eyeing Everton talent Anthony Evans, whose contract expires in June.

Evans can play up front or as an attacking midfielder and impressed this week by scoring twice in a 2-1 win for David Unsworth’s under-23s against Tottenham Hotspur.

The 19-year-old is an exciting prospect who simply faces too much competition at Everton to have a chance of breaking through.

Just like imminent signing Adam Forshaw had to leave Goodison Park to make a name for himself, Evans will have to do the same in order to get his career off the mark.

Leeds have been investing heavily in young players and Evans fits the bill, and could compete with Wilks to try and break into the first team at Elland Road.
