Leeds United loanee Caleb Ekuban had a bit of a mare for Trabzonspor on Saturday.

The Turkish side beat Ankaragucu 1-0, but the scoreline would and could have been a lot sweeter had the Leeds-owned striker finished his dinner.

Ekuban, a £500,000 signing by the Whites in the summer of 2017 [Yorkshire Evening Post], spurned a number of goalscoring chances, and was also booked for diving inside the box in an effort to win a penalty.

Here is how the 24-year-old forward, who had two goals in five games before the weekend, reacted to his performance on Instagram.

Even at Leeds, goalscoring was never Ekuban’s forte despite being a striker, with the Italian managing to score only twice in 21 appearances across all competitions last season.

Interestingly, he came up against his Thorp Arch team-mate Hadi Sacko this past weekend, though the French winger was unable to inspire Ankaragucu on what was his debut after joining on a half-season loan last week.

It seems very unlikely that either player has a long-term future in West Yorkshire, irrespective of how they finish the campaign at their respective loan clubs.
