Jesse Marsch says he would love to work with Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic amid reports both Leeds and Newcastle are keen. Marsch was speaking in Friday’s press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash against Chelsea.

Pulisic, 23, is likely to be on the bench for Chelsea. He has made substitute appearances in the first two Premier League matches, getting little under 30 minutes against Everton – and then as a late sub against Tottenham.

The USA skipper is said to be ‘very, very open’ to leaving Chelsea as he pursues more game time. Leeds are one of the clubs being linked with the ex-Borussia Dortmund, while Newcastle also want the £58million Chelsea signing.

Asked about Pulisic in Friday’s press conference, Leeds boss Marsch says he would love to work with Pulisic. He heaped huge praise on the Chelsea attacker, and suggested perhaps working with him as USA manager one day.

“Christian is a big, big talent, the best in our country. The expectations on him are high, he has met a lot of those expectations. But with his talent, people are demanding more,” Marsch said, as per Leeds’ YouTube channel.

“Everytime I’ve coached against him, he’s scored. I don’t have any negative criticisms. I would love to work with him, whether it is with the national team in the distant future. He has created a lot of firsts for American players.”

Whether or not Pulisic would be tempted by a move to Leeds, is another matter. The attacker is a player of Champions League quality, but he is not getting the game time he needs at Stamford Bridge.

Pulisic will be captaining his country against England at the Qatar World Cup. He will want to go into the tournament in the best form possible, with game time under his belt. To do that, he needs to leave Chelsea.

Leeds would give him the game time. They have a manager that clearly likes him. Two his USA teammates are already at Leeds, in Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson. So the temptation of a loan deal could be there.
