The Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur managers share a relationship stretching back around 30 years.

The Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has revealed he did not get a chance to see Mauricio Pochettino despite travelling to watch his Tottenham Hotspur side in action against Huddersfield Town.
Bielsa was spotted at the home of Leeds’ West Yorkshire rivals on Saturday, where Tottenham emerged with a 2-0 win thanks to a brace of Harry Kane goals.
Some had speculated that the veteran Argentine was there to catch up with Pochettino, whom he helped to sign for Newell’s Old Boys when the Spurs boss was in his teens.
But Bielsa failed to disclose the purpose of his visit to the Kirklees Stadium, and told BBC Radio Leeds when asked if he had spoken to Pochettino: “No, I could not see him.”

Pochettino won both the Argentine Primera Division Apertura [Opening] and Clausura [Closing] titles under Bielsa, with whom he later reunited at Espanyol and his country’s national team.
Speaking to Leeds Live at the start of the campaign, the Leeds boss appeared to rule out using his links with Tottenham and Manchester City [through his relationship with Pep Guardiola] to recruit new signings, although the Whites later took Jack Harrison on loan from the latter club.
