Leeds United’s four-match winning streak ended on Tuesday.

Garry Monk has claimed on TV Yorkshire that it was “bizarre” Leeds United were not given a free kick in the moments before Bristol City’s winning goal on Tuesday.
Leeds surrendered their four-match winning streak in all competitions last night when Marlon Pack’s second-half strike settled a tight affair at Ashton Gate.

Just before the goal, Pablo Hernandez dithered in possession and was ultimately dispossessed by Lee Tomlin in what led to Pack striking the decisive blow.
But Monk, speaking to TV Yorkshire, claims that the referee should have awarded his side a free kick for what he believes was a foul by Tomlin.
He said: “To be honest I felt it was a foul. Fouls had been given all night and all of a sudden it wasn’t given, so that was bizarre.
“It obviously led to the goal but we reacted extremely well without having that killer touch, which we’ve had in the last few games.”

Another disappointment for Leeds came in the form of Pontus Jansson, who came off at half time and was replaced by Liam Cooper in defence.
Jansson, a loan signing from Torino, has been arguably Leeds’ best player this season, along with Chris Wood, but Monk later confirmed that it was a precautionary measure on his part upon hearing about the Swede’s tight hamstring.
Ideally, Monk will want the 25-year-old back in the first XI for Saturday’s visit of Barnsley – who have scored 20 Championship goals in 10 games – but time will tell whether he is fit enough.
