The Leeds United boss may not be received warmly in the Welsh capital this weekend.

Leeds United boss and Swansea City legend Garry Monk has joked to LUTV that he is looking forward to returning to South Wales for the visit to his old club’s bitter rivals Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.
The 38-year-old could, and probably should, brace himself for a hostile reception this weekend following his 10-year playing career with Swansea, having also managed the Swans for close to two years.

He was sacked by City last December, but he remains a very popular figure at the Liberty Stadium and he is almost certain to feel the wrath of Cardiff fans.
Although Monk allowed himself a smile when asked about the game, the Leeds boss insisted that he was firmly focused on his Whites side.

Asked by LUTV if he’s looking forward to returning to that part of South Wales, a smiling and sarcastic Monk said: “Yep. They’re all very friendly down there. It’s a good friendly atmosphere. I have no doubt [that he’ll get a good reaction].
“Obviously my association with the club down the road doesn’t help my situation, but I’m very focused on Leeds.”
Leeds go into the game on something of a high after beating Blackburn Rovers 2-1 on Tuesday night, courtesy of Kyle Bartley’s 86th-minute winner.
It was United’s first win at Elland Road and second of the Championship season, but under-pressure Monk will know another defeat in the Welsh capital may see him sacked.
