The Whites skipper has missed the club’s last four games due to injury.

Garry Monk has admitted that he is not sure why the injury sustained by Leeds United captain Liam Bridcutt is yet to heal, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
The Whites skipper has not played since hobbling off during the early stages of the second-half of the club’s clash with Blackburn midway through the month due to a foot problem, subsequently missing the next four games.

And while Monk previously stated after the 2-0 victory over Cardiff that the summer signing had only just missed out and was expected to be back in time for their League Cup clash with Blackburn (via BBC Radio Leeds), he has now conceded that his injury has left him slightly perplexed and has resulted in the 27-year-old undergoing a scan on Tuesday.
“We just have to check that there isn’t something more underlying because he should have been back by now. We’re not sure why it hasn’t healed properly,” he said, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

While the Peacocks’ recent form has suggested that the former Sunderland man has not been overly missed, their defeat to Bristol City hinted that his presence may have been extremely useful as it was after Leeds lost the ball in the middle of the park that the Robins were able to go on the attack that led to the only goal.
Fortunately for Monk, the international break follows Saturday’s clash with Barnsley which he will be hoping gives the midfielder’s injury more than enough time to fully heal so he can help the side go on another winning run.
