Garry Monk has hinted that Ronaldo Vieira will be back in contention for Leeds’ trip to Bristol City in midweek after missing the side’s victory over Ipswich Town at the weekend, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
The highly-rated 18-year-old had to be taken off just before the hour-mark during the club’s win over Blackburn last week, and subsequently sat out the narrow win against the Tractor Boys on Saturday.

But after discussing Liam Bridcutt’s chances of making a return at Ashton Gate, Monk also shed light on Vieira’s prognosis.
“He was just a little bit short [for the game against Ipswich]. But I’m pretty sure those two guys will be back and ready for Tuesday,” he said, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
While the Whites are currently enjoying a four-match winning run in all competitions, there is no question that having the academy graduate back available will be a big boost to the squad.
Although he has occasionally shown his lack of experience this term, Vieira’s performances have predominantly been hugely impressive, and he has established himself as a genuine rival for Bridcutt and Eunan O’Kane’s place in the centre of the park.
And Monk will know that having Vieira back amongst his options will enhance their chances of maintaining their current momentum going into the international break which follows the clashes against the Robins and Barnsley on Saturday.
