Leeds United take on Liverpool tomorrow in the quarter-final of the EFL Cup.
Speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s EFL Cup quarter-final against Liverpool tomorrow night, Leeds manager Garry Monk explained how it is games like these that are so important for the development of his current crop of players at Elland Road, as quoted by the Mirror:
The Whites have really impressed so far this season, after bouncing back superbly from a slow start to their campaign, and currently sit in fifth position in the Championship table after taking 12 points from their last five league outings.

Tomorrow’s trip to Anfield will represent a different challenge entirely for Monk’s men, however, as they prepare to take on Jürgen Klopp’s in-form side, but the Leeds boss explained how vital the experience will be for his side, as quoted by the Mirror:
“It’s important these players go through this type of experience because if you want to progress and get to the highest level of football – staff and players – we have to embrace this type of challenge and the atmosphere we face tomorrow.”

Despite the Reds fine run of form, the game is still a fantastic opportunity for the West Yorkshire side to progress into the semi-final of a domestic cup competition for the first time since 1996, when they eventually went on to lose the League Cup final against Aston Villa.
Leeds fans will be hoping their team has something special in store for them in the EFL Cup this season.
