Leeds United fans were happy to beat Middlesbrough to Mateusz Klich in the summer.

Thomas Christiansen’s first signing as Leeds United boss came at the expense of former manager Garry Monk.
SkySports reported that Monk had recommended Mateusz Klich to the Leeds hierarchy before his exit.
Leeds acted quickly before Monk could bring him to Middlesbrough, but right now it looks as though the former Whites manager may have persuaded them to sign a dud.
Klich has pedigree as a Poland international and experience in Holland’s Eredivisie, but he has struggled to make an impact at Leeds.

He has been unable to dislodge Leeds academy kid Kalvin Phillips from midfield and has been unable to take advantage of his opportunities.
He played four League Cup games without really convincing, and this has led to a lack of Championship chances.
Klich has managed only 110 minutes of action in the Championship with just one start, a demoralising 3-1 loss to Cardiff.
Middlesbrough boss Monk will upon early reflection be pleased that he was denied the opportunity by Leeds to sign Klich himself, and the pressure is on the £1.5 million signing to turn around his early season woes.
