Leeds United signed Tyler Roberts from West Brom in January, but he has been on the fringes since moving to Elland Road largely due to an injury.

The 19-year-old centre-forward regained fitness for the new season and made his first two appearances for the Yorkshire giants in the EFL Cup.

He is still waiting to make his first league bow for the Whites, but he could turn out to be a hidden gem for manager Marco Bielsa this season.

Leeds are going to need their full squad if they are to push all the way for promotion this campaign and Roberts is the third-choice striker in behind Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford.

Roberts is a highly-rated teenager that has excellent pace and his versatility to play out wide too makes him a great option in the squad.

He made his senior debut for Wales on Thursday night in the 4-1 win over the Republic of Ireland in the Nations League, impressing with his second-half cameo.

It would only take some bad injury luck for Roberts to be thrown straight in the deep end and the fact he’s already featured on the bench for half of Leeds league games suggests he’s close to a chance.

Roberts could turn out to be a hidden gem this season that pops up with some crucial moments despite not featuring so far, something a player of his quality is capable of.
