Leeds United relieved some pressure with a win on Tuesday night.

Leeds United assistant manager Pep Clotet has posted a defiant message on Twitter following the Whites’ 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday.
The win, against the Championship’s basement side, was Leeds’ first at home in the league this season and only their second overall.

The Yorkshire side began Tuesday evening two places above Rovers in 22nd, with speculation mounting that a defeat would spell the end of Garry Monk’s short term as Elland Road manager.
Were that to have proved the case, Clotet’s position presumably would also be under threat, with the pair enjoying a close relationship spanning back to their Swansea City days.
Instead, they live to fight another day, after goals from Chris Wood and Kyle Bartley either side of a Blackburn equaliser courtesy of Marvin Emnes – with whom Monk played and later signed while at Swansea.

On Wednesday, Clotet uploaded a picture of Leeds’ players celebrating Wood’s opener, alongside a capitalised caption which read: “NEVER SURRENDER”.
Leeds could secure back-to-back league wins for the first time since April if they beat Cardiff City in Wales on Saturday.
The Whites, who climbed to 13th after beating Rovers, go into the game four places and two points clear of the Bluebirds.
