Wales manager Rob Page has been quoted by the Independent as saying that Leeds, Tottenham, Everton, Newcastle and West Ham target Brennan Johnson is already a top-six quality player. He is rated at £20million.
Johnson is preparing to take the play-off final by storm with Nottingham Forest. The 21-year-old Wales international scored two goals in his side’s penalty-shootout win over Sheffield United in the play-off semi-finals.
He has been incredible this season. Returning from a loan last summer from Lincoln, Johnson has since clocked up 28 goal involvements in 52 league and cup appearances. He has netted 19 goals, and nine assists.

The Mail say Everton, West Ham, Newcastle and Tottenham all want the £20million-rated ace – while Leeds have been scouting Johnson. Wales boss Page thinks he is already good enough for the Premier League’s top six.
“Brennan is the future of Welsh football and I think he’s top-six (Premier League) now. He’s shown he’s got that potential and ability. I’ve seen it in him for a long time and it’s been great to watch his development,” Page said.
Tottenham and Leeds target Johnson is top-six quality, according to Page
Is he good enough to start for a top-six club? Whether he is good enough, he will not. He will not be able to break his way into Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea or Liverpool’s front three.
Now, he is easily good enough to join one of those clubs and act as cover for the front three. Tottenham are one of the sides interested and he could easily act as cover for Dejan Kulusevski. But he is not as good as the Swede.
With time and regular football, he easily has the potential to reach that level. But that means he has to pick a side, if not Forest, to join where he will be first choice. Everton, Leeds, even Newcastle, might be ideal.
