Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United are now reportedly facing competition from Real Sociedad for Ben Brereton.

Moreover, Brereton’s Chile manager Martin Lasarte has recommended his former club Sociedad to sign the striker.

What’s the story?

Earlier this week, RedGol in Chile reported that Leeds are interested in signing Brereton from Blackburn Rovers in the summer transfer window.

Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa is reportedly having people scout the 22-year-old striker at the ongoing Copa America.

The Chilean edition of AS are now reporting that La Liga club Sociedad are interested in the youngster.

Chile national team coach Lasarte managed Sociedad from 2009 until 2011, and he is recommending the former Nottingham Forest striker to Sociedad.

Ben Brereton to Leeds United?

Sociedad are a big club, but Leeds are in the Premier League and are going places.

Bielsa is one of the best managers in the world, and working under the Argentine could be very tempting for the 22-year-old.

Leeds could also be able to offer more transfer fee to Blackburn and more salary to Brereton than Sociedad.

The Blackburn no.20 scored seven goals and gave four assists in 30 Championship starts for last season.
