Leeds United confirmed that former Newcastle United midfielder Vurnon Anita has become their latest signing.
Leeds and Newcastle fans have been reacting on Twitter to the news that the Whites confirmed on their official website that former Magpies midfielder Vurnon Anita will be plying his trade at Elland Road next season.
Despite making 27 Championship appearances during Newcastle’s title-winning campaign, Anita left St James’ at the end of last season after five years with the club.

But the Dutchman will remain in England’s second tier next term, with the Whites confirming on their official website that the 28-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the club, with the signing initially being announced at the launch of their new kit.
The news has received an overwhelmingly positive reaction on Twitter with Leeds fans predominantly delighted with the acquisition – the Whites’ sixth of the summer.
The former Ajax man is one of the most versatile players in the division, capable of playing right across the defence and in midfield, so could be an extremely valuable player in Thomas Christiansen’s squad.
Meanwhile, Newcastle supporters have also expressed their happiness for their former player after his years of service to the club.
