Championship football takes two weeks off after this weekend as the international break arrives and there will be many managers hoping to relieve the pressure on themselves before then.

Here are three bosses in the second tier of English football who have the most to prove before domestic action takes a fortnight away.

Christiansen was unhappy with the refereeing decisions as his Leeds United side lost 2-1 at home to Derby County in their last league outing, their sixth defeat in seven matches.

However, the 44-year-old admitted to the Yorkshire Post that “we need the win on Saturday (November 4) against Brentford” and he is not wrong as the Whites continue to slip down the table.

Hull City were also on the end of a home loss midweek as Middlesbrough emerged 3-1 winners from the clash at the KCOM Stadium.

Slutsky hinted to the Hull Daily Mail after the game he would not be surprised if he were sacked and things don’t get any easier for the Tigers as they travel to third-placed Sheffield United this weekend.

Jaap Stam

Stam’s Reading team were victorious in their last outing, beating Nottingham Forest 3-1, but the Berkshire outfit still remain just five points outside the drop zone.

This weekend they travel to in-form Derby and the Dutchman knows pressure remains on his shoulders, telling the Reading Chronicle before the Forest win: “I like this club very much but if somebody else can do it better and get better results then they [the club] need to make that decision.”
