FC Luzern’s sporting director is confident Ardon Jashari will stay in Switzerland this month despite interest from Middlesbrough, Celtic and Premier League outfit Leeds United, speaking to Pilatus Today.
Compared to Jude Bellingham due to his all-action style and remarkable maturity, Jashari is dealing with that ongoing transfer speculation with typical level-headedness.
“I heard about the rumours,” the Switzerland international explains. “There’s no getting around that. But I’m happy now that I can get back on the pitch to train with the team.
“For me, the focus is clearly on Luzern, so that I can prepare well and without injury. The timing would have to be right for me to decide to switch now.”

Jashari has captained FC Luzern 13 times this season at the age of just 20. And he’s clearly not a man in a rush. He’s happy to wait until the right opportunity presents itself. And, despite rumoured interest from Middlesbrough, Celtic and Leeds, neither player nor club sound like they are planning to go their separate ways any time soon.
Leeds United face competition from Celtic and Middlesbrough for Ardon Jashari
“I currently don’t think it’s realistic that there will be a transfer with Ardon this winter,” explains sporting director Remo Meyer.
“On the one hand, we have our clear ideas about the transfer fee. On the other hand, (a sale) must also suit the player.”
According to Sky Germany, it could take £6 million to convince Luzern to cash in on Jashari; an ‘exceptionally gifted‘ footballer who has four assists this season despite playing in a supposedly defensive-minded role.
Leeds’ interest comes following the departure of long-serving playmaker Mateusz Klich. Adam Forshaw – another of Marcelo Bielsa’s old favourites – also appears to be on borrowed time at Elland Road.
Celtic, meanwhile, are expected to find themselves one midfielder down; Oliver Abildgaard’s loan deal likely to be terminated five months ahead of schedule.
Sky Sports believe Middlesbrough are also admirers of Jashari. The rejuvenated Riversiders plan to back head coach Michael Carrick this month; a reward for a dramatic turnaround in their season under the Manchester United legend.
