Leeds United and Celtic reportedly want Liam Lindsay, but the Barnsley defender is claimed to be on his way to Stoke City.

According to Sky Sports, Stoke City have agreed a deal with Barnsley over the transfer of Liam Lindsay, and that will be disappointment to both Leeds United and Celtic.
Lindsay is one of the best central defenders in the Championship, and given that he is only 23 years of age, it is safe to say that the Scotsman can only improve.
According to The Daily Star, Leeds and Celtic are among the clubs chasing the former Partick Thistle central defender.
Stoke City move
However, according to Sky Sports, it is Stoke who are set to secure the services of the youngster.
It has been reported that the Potters will pay an initial £2 million to Barnsley for Lindsay, with another £500,000 in performance-related add-ons.

Missing out
For just £2m, Leeds and Celtic could have signed a very talented and promising young defender with experience of playing in Scotland and in England.
Both Leeds and Celtic need a new centre-back. While the West Yorkshire outfit need to land a new player in that position to increase the depth in their squad, the Hoops have to find a central defender following the departure of Dedryck Boyata and the return of Filip Benkovic to his parent club Leicester City.
According to WhoScored, Lindsay made 41 appearances in League One for Barnsley this past season, scoring one goal in the process.
