Whites ace Eunan O’Kane spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s hard-fought 2-1 victory away at Burton Albion yesterday, and responded to a question asking him whether a top-two finish is a realistic aim for him and his teammates this season, as quoted by the club’s official website.

Leeds now sit comfortably inside the play-off spots in fifth position int the table, having racked up four consecutive Championship wins, and the automatic promotion places now seem well within their grasp, with only five points separating both them and second placed Bristol City.

Thomas Christiansen deserves great credit for the manner in which he has turned things around at Elland Road, following a tricky two-month spell in charge at Leeds.

The west Yorkshire outfit are arguably the Championship’s most in-form side, and with so many fixtures crammed in over the Christmas period, they have a fantastic opportunity to really stamp their authority on the division over the course of the next fortnight.

O’Kane responded to reporters when asked whether a top-two finish is a realistic target for Leeds this season, as quoted by LUTV:

“Yes, of course. After today I think we are five points off second. I think we have every reason to be looking up and trying to catch them. But although it is a cliche, we have to take one game at a time. If we keep winning our games then we will see where we are come May.”

Next up for Leeds is a trip to the Midlands to take on Birmingham City on Saturday, and nothing less than a win will do.
