Leeds United ace Souleymane Doukara has been named in the EFL Team of the Week.

Leeds United forward Souleymane Doukara has been named in the official EFL Team of the Week, as announced on Twitter earlier today.

The Whites picked up a superb win over in-form Aston Villa on Saturday evening, as second half goals from Kemar Roofe and Chris Wood handed Garry Monk’s men all three points in a 2-0 victory.

It’s now five wins in the last six Championship games for Leeds, who are up to fourth in the table and just seven points away from an automatic promotion spot.

Many of Monk’s players impressed on Saturday evening, but just one Leeds player has been rewarded with a place in the latest EFL Team of the Week.

As seen below, the EFL announced the XI earlier today, and Leeds ace Souleymane Doukara was included alongside the likes of Karl Darlow, Alex Pearce, Alex Pritchard, Conor Hourihane, Sam Winnall and Chris Martin.

This inclusion in the team of the week is another example of how Doukara has improved under Monk, making himself an important first-team player at Elland Road after a disappointing season last term.

The Frenchman, 25, started just 13 Championship games last season and scored only three goals, but has carved out a role for himself in Monk’s team, starting out wide and offering great work rate to the Leeds side.

With two goals so far and Saturday’s assist against Aston Villa, Doukara is playing his best football for Leeds right now – and has put himself in the frame for a new contract at the end of the season, as he’ll be a free agent next summer.
