The sacking of Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner had Leeds fans reflecting on the infamous touchline bust-up between the German and then manager Garry Monk.

David Wagner’s celebration at Town’s winning goal and Monk’s petty reaction to it sparked a melee between Huddersfield and Leeds players.

Leeds United's Pontus Jansson rues a missed chance during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Derby County at Elland Road on January 11, 2019 in Leeds, England.

Two of those players seen squaring up on the touchline are now teammates.

Leeds defender Pontus Jansson has been reunited with Izzy Brown, who bravely confronted him during the 2017 clash.

Brown is now on loan at Leeds, and is close to making his long awaited debut after recovering from injury, scoring twice in an under-23 game yesterday.

Jansson saw the video re-circulating on social media in light of Wagner’s sacking, and sent a message to say that he and Brown are now close pals.

Brown responded to Jansson’s message, showing the feeling is mutual.

Brown will have earned Jansson’s respect for fronting up to him during the clash, and Leeds will shortly have the pair of them on the pitch together, fighting for the same cause.
