The Leeds United star has been deployed in his preferred right wing role this season.

Leeds ace Pablo Hernandez offered high words of praise for Marcelo Bielsa, when speaking to reporters, and suggested that everyone in the world of football speaks very highly of the Argentine, as quoted by Leeds Live

Hernandez has played a key role for Leeds this season, with his form being a major contributing factor behind his side’s fine campaign thus far.

He has chipped in with seven goals and five assists in 13 Championship appearances to date this term.

The Whites have made a fine start to life under Bielsa, and they currently sit in second spot in the Championship after 20 games played, just one point adrift of league leaders Norwich City.

And the 33-year-old Spaniard credited his manager for his fine form.

Hernandez spoke to reporters, and explained why Bielsa is so highly regarded within the game, as quoted by Leeds Live:

“When I found out [he was the new manager], I was very happy. I know him from working in Spain with Athletic Bilbao and with the national teams [of] Argentina and Chile. Everybody respects him, he has had a very good career and everyone in the world of football speaks very highly of him. He is a special manager and a special man. I am very happy because I know with Marcelo, I have improved this year. I have gone back to my initial position as a right-winger rather than in the middle or on the left, so I am very happy with this.”

The stats certainly back up the Whites ace’s comments. All of his goals and assists this season have come from the right wing position.

Next up for Leeds is a home game against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, and Hernandez will be hoping to help his team achieve another important three points in their ongoing quest for promotion back to the Premier League.
