Pierre-Michel Lasogga won’t go back to Hamburg after his Leeds United loan finishes and dreams of playing in the Premier League.
Lasogga is settled in England with his girlfriend and daughter and believes that his style is better suited to English football than it is to that in his native Germany.
In fact the striker’s dream ever since he was a child is to play in the Premier League, which has lead to speculation that the 26-year-old will not return to Leeds and instead look to find a club in the top flight next term.
Is he good enough?
Lasogga has had a decent first year in the Championship, scoring ten goals in 26 league matches for the Whites, but his form has been erratic at best.
The German is a physical targetman that looks suited to the second tier, but whether the forward could make the step up is another matter.
Many players with a far better scoring ratio in the division – such as Dwight Gayle, Dave Nugent and Jordan Rhodes – have not been able to convert that to the top tier and it could be argued that Lasogga perhaps has more to prove before he makes the switch.
