Rangers captain Lee Wallace has admitted to the club’s official website that there is always negativity surrounding the club but they cannot allow it to detract from the bigger picture.

The Gers are low on confidence at this moment on time after a difficult couple of weeks.

They are without a win in their last three league games, including a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Celtic.

They are also dealing with the fallout of the current situation regarding Joey Barton after he was suspended for three weeks following an incident in training.

There is a lot of negativity surrounding the club but their captain insists it must be put to one side.

“We know the result against Ross County was far from what we want, but we are always going to be positive,” he told the club’s official website.

“There is always negativity here, especially with the way we have started, but I and we will never let that detract from the bigger picture when you are a Rangers football player.”

The best way for Mark Warburton’s side to dispel the current pessimism at Ibrox will be to return to winning ways as soon as possible.

They have the chance to do that this weekend as they travel to take on Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday afternoon.

A win against their fierce rivals would not only help them to get back on track in the league but also show that the situation at the club is not as bad as it appears from the outside.
