Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers reportedly want Kyle Lafferty, and Ibrox left-back Lee Wallace could be used as a makeweight.
It has been reported that Rangers are interested in signing Lafferty from Heart of Midlothian in the summer transfer window.
With the Gers having reportedly seen their initial bid of £200,000 turned down by Hearts, it has been claimed that including Wallace in a deal could be option for Steven Gerrard’s side.
The 30-year-old left-back has lost his place in the Rangers team, and it is hard to see the Scotland international play regularly for the Gers next season, with Declan John and Jon Flanagan in the team.
Wallace – who has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2011 when he joined from Hearts for a transfer fee reported by The Scotsman to be worth £1.5 million – should not hesitate at the chance to switch clubs if he gets the chance.
True, leaving Rangers for Hearts will be a step down for the 30-year-old, but the left-back is not going to be doing much if he is at Ibrox next season except warm the substitutes’ bench.
The Scotsman is good enough to play for a top club in the Scottish Premiership, and the left-back should be open to joining Hearts.
