Former Ibrox star Lee McCulloch seems to rate Glasgow Rangers defender James Tavernier highly.

The 39-year-old former Rangers star, who was on the books of the Ibrox club from 2007 until 2015, seems to have been impressed with 26-year-old right-back Tavernier, who moved to the Gers from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £200,000.
While analysing the Rangers’ players’ performance against Heart of Midlothian at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership last weekend, McCulloch wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times: “I thought they played well.
“James Tavernier is starting to look like a leader, Jason Holt Holt and Graham Dorrans did well in the middle of the park and, up front, Daniel Candeias and Jamie Murphy were a threat and Jason Cummings got a goal on his return to the starting line-up.”

Best right-back in Scottish Premiership?
Tavernier is one of the best right-backs in the Scottish Premiership, and there could be a case to be made about the 26-year-old being the best in his position in the Scottish top flight.
The 26-year-old has made 33 appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers so far this season, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in the process, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

The former Newcastle United right-back has been a key player for the Gers so far this season, with Graeme Murty’s side set to finish second in the Scottish Premiership table, and he has improved and progressed steadily for the Gers since his move back in 2015.
Rangers will take on Old Firm rivals Celtic away from home at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership this coming Sunday afternoon.
