Rangers have seen an initial bid reported to be worth £200,000 rejected by Hearts for Lafferty.

Former Rangers captain Lee McCulloch has told the Glasgow Evening Times that Rangers should go back in for Hearts striker Kyle Lafferty this summer, after reportedly having a bid rejected.
Rangers are said to have tabled an offer of just £200,000 to land the 30-year-old striker, who scored 19 goals in 41 league and cup outings for Craig Levein’s Hearts last season – including one against The Gers.
Lafferty spent four years at Ibrox between 2008 and 2012 after joining the club from Burnley, and scored 36 goals as well as creating another 19 in 134 appearances for the Scottish giants.
Now, Steven Gerrard is looking to lure the 67-time Northern Ireland international to Ibrox and McCulloch believes he ticks all the right boxes and has backed his old side to land the former Norwich City forward.
“I think Kyle could certainly do a job for Rangers and become an important part of the squad if he gets the chance to go back,” McCulloch said.
“He is obviously big and strong given his size but he can score key goals and he has been at the club before, which is massive, and he knows the expectations there. Plus, he is a Rangers fan.
“So I think it is a deal that ticks all the boxes and having Lafferty there could help Alfredo Morelos progress as well if the manager chooses to go two up at times.”

Lafferty has entered the final 12 months of his contract on Tyneside and Hearts are said to be willing to sell their talismanic striker for a fee believed to be in the region of £1million.
Rangers have already signed Umar Sadiq on a season-long loan from AS Roma, while Alfredo Morelos scored against NK Osijek and then Wigan on the weekend.
But with Morelos just 22 and Sadiq only 21, powerful 6ft 3in target man Lafferty would provide Gerrard with some much-needed experience in attack and give the Gers another option.
