Lee McCulloch has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he thinks Glasgow Rangers will make a big name signing in the summer.

Steven Gerrard has made no secret of his desire to strengthen at Ibrox, even though Rangers brought in a host of new players last year.

And McCulloch thinks that his former side may well have a desire to bring a big name to Ibrox at the next opportunity.

“I can see Rangers making a marquee signing this summer and I think they could probably do with one,” McCulloch said.

“I don’t know who that could be, but it would be interesting if they could get a bigger name on loan that would really get the fans excited.”

Rangers’ transfer plans are becoming clearer, with one signing already wrapped up.

Rangers have brought in Jake Hastie to strengthen their attack for next campaign.

Gerrard’s men have also been linked with an ambitious loan move for Watford striker Andre Gray in the Glasgow Evening Times.

Rangers are thought to have funds to spend, as they look to close the gap further on Celtic.

Gerrard’s men are currently nine points behind their Glasgow rivals in the Scottish Premiership standings.
