Rangers are reportedly in talks with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

Former Rangers captain Lee McCulloch has told BBC Sport that he feels his old club’s reported decision to enter talks with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is harsh on current boss Graeme Murty.
The Sun claim 37-year-old Gerrard is locked in negotiations with the Scottish giants over becoming the club’s next manager, with Murty’s future in doubt beyond the end of the season.
But Murty remains in charge and will take to the dugout once again on Sunday afternoon as the Gers travel across Glasgow to face Brendan Rodgers’ all-conquering Celtic. A win for the Hoops will see them win the league title.

McCulloch was sympathetic towards Murty in his comments ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm derby, stating that the reported interest in Gerrard and indeed other managers is not good for the current boss.
“So what does it say for Graeme Murty, who needs to get something out of these players over the last four games to finish second in the league? I don’t think this is good for Graeme,” McCulloch said.
“The board has got a job to do and it shows they are being active. They know currently things are not good enough and they need to get better next season.
“They are going to need to approach candidates before the end of the season, but it tells me that Graeme is not going to get the job.”

Murty has a big decision to make at centre-back ahead of Sunday’s clash, with Bruno Alves and David Bates sidelined. Ross McCrorie was sent off last time against Celtic, so Murty could consider Fabio Cardoso alongside Russell Martin.
Three points for Celtic will see the Hoops take a massive step towards securing the treble, as they will hold aloft their seventh consecutive Scottish Premiership title. With the League Cup in the bag, they face Motherwell on May 19 in the Scottish Cup final.
