Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side currently sit just two points adrift of Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic.

Rangers legend Lee McCulloch believes Rangers have to be targeting eight wins from their next nine league outings, if they are to remain in touch with Celtic heading into the three-week winter break at the end of December, when speaking exclusively to the Glasgow Evening Times.
Celtic currently sit comfortably at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, but Rangers are just two points adrift of their great rivals.
The Gers have nine league games to come before Scottish football embarks on a three-week winter break, and Steven Gerrard’s men will be hoping that they are still right in the mix come the end of December.
Their nine-game run is far from easy, however, with trips to Hearts and Hibernian and home matches against Aberdeen and Celtic on the horizon.
McCulloch, though, believes that this next month or so will be a great opportunity for Rangers to make a real statement to Celtic, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times:

“Steven Gerrard must be targeting eight league wins to ensure that, at worst, they are still within touching distance of Celtic going into the winter break. If they could be level or ahead, that would be a huge psychological boost for Rangers and really set them up for the second half of the campaign. It would be massive.”
Next up for Rangers is a home game against Livingstone on Saturday, and nothing less than a comfortable victory will do for Gerrard’s men.
