Glasgow Rangers brought Mark Allen to Ibrox from Manchester City in the summer of 2017, and former Gers star Lee McCulloch speaks highly of him.

The 39-year-old former Rangers star, who was on the books of the Ibrox club from 2007 until 2015, was impressed with the Gers’ Director of Football when he was at Manchester City.
Allen was at Premier League club City from 2009 until the summer of 2017 when he moved to Rangers.
Having spent more than seven years as the Academy Director at City, Allen arrived at Ibrox with a strong reputation, but things are not going well for Rangers at the moment.
Rangers are fighting for the second spot in the Scottish Premiership table this season and have just relieved Graeme Murray of his duties as the Gers’ manager.

McCulloch, who has managed Kilmarnock, has spoken highly of Allen, and has stated that the Rangers Director of Football has great contacts in the game.
“I went down to Man City to meet Mark Allen when he was there and I thought he spoke very well,” McCulloch wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times.
“He has great contacts in the game and I was impressed with what he was doing at that level.”

Criticism
Allen’s time at Rangers this season have not been great, and one suspects that fans will not be too pleased.
Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd recently questioned Allen’s role at Ibrox in The Scottish Sun, with some Rangers fans also asking questions of the Gers’ Director of Football earlier in the season, as reported on HITC Sport.
