Glasgow Rangers loanee Lassana Coulibaly has made a fantastic start to life at Ibrox.

Coulibaly was one of the most intriguing additions to the Gers’ squad following Steven Gerrard’s appointment. While many of the club’s additions would have been household names to the majority of the Ibrox faithful, the 22-year-old was much more of an unknown quantity as he arrived on a season-long loan from French side Angers.
However, the Rangers fans undoubtedly know all about the Mali international now, with the youngster putting in a string of fine performances since coming into the side. And former Gers captain McCulloch suggested that he has been incredibly impressed by what he has seen from Coulibaly since his arrival.
“What Coulibaly gives for the team is unreal and I am not surprised to see how quickly the supporters have taken to him this season,” he told the Evening Times. “Signings like that show you just how important recruitment is and that is something that, on what we have seen so far, Rangers have done well this summer.

“It is about trying to find those rough diamonds and Steven and Mark Allen deserve credit for the deals that have been done so far. Coulibaly has been outstanding since the start of the season, he has been Rangers’ best player so far and he makes them tick when he is playing. But I still think he can kick on and there is more to come as he develops his game and matures.”
The signs certainly suggest that the former Bastia ace is going to be an incredible signing for Rangers over the next year. He has taken no time to adapt to his new surroundings and is already threatening to be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

And with Rangers boasting a cluster of extremely talented options in the middle of the park, Coulibaly will know that he will need to maintain his current levels of form if he wishes to stay in the side.
The Gers have unfortunately got a mixed record when it comes to signing players on loan in recent years. But in Coulibaly, it appears that the club may have stumbled upon a very special talent.
