Rangers will welcome Glen Kamara and Jordan Jones to Ibrox this summer.

Lee McCulloch of Rangers celebrates after he scores during the Scottish Championship League Match between Rangers and Dumbarton, at Ibrox Stadium on August 23, 2014 Glasgow, Scotland.

Ex-Rangers captain Lee McCulloch has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he thinks new Gers signing Jordan Jones can go on to win a move back to England in the future.

Rangers have been busy in the first week of the January transfer window, snapping up two veterans in Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe to bolster their push for the Scottish Premiership title this season.

The Gers have also made two signings for the future, landing Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara and Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones on pre-contract agreements.

With their current contract expiring at the end of the season, the two players will join for free ahead of next season, or could still even sign for a fee this month.

Midfielder Kamara has impressed for Dundee, and the ex-Arsenal youngster – a Finland international – can provide a real box-to-box option in Steven Gerrard’s midfield.

Meanwhile, former Middlesbrough winger Jones has shown his quality with Kilmarnock, and will bring blistering pace and flair down the flanks next season.

Now, ex-Rangers captain McCulloch – who worked with Jones at Rugby Park – has praised him as ‘lightning quick’, even predicting that he could be sold on for a huge profit to an English club if he lives up to his ‘enormous’ potential.

McCulloch also hailed the deal for Kamara, noting that he will be ‘fantastic’ signing as long as he adds goals to what is already a pretty impressive skillset.

“Jordan is very quick, lightning quick. He is direct,” said McCulloch. “On his day, there isn’t a right back in Scotland who can deal with him. Hopefully he will get a good pre-season under his belt in the summer, hit the ground running and live up to his enormous potential. If he does that he could conceivably be sold on for a big profit to an English club in future.

I think he is good enough to kick on and move to a higher level in future.”

“I have watched Glen Kamara a great deal too. He is a quick midfielder who can handle the ball. He keeps thing simple and can get about the park too. If he comes in and adds goals to his game he will be a fantastic signing. There was a bit of interest in Glen from clubs down south so to get him for free as well is a coup. It is a great bit of business,” he added.
