The Rangers hitman made his debut for Colombia on Saturday.

Rangers legend Lee McCulloch spoke exclusively to the Glasgow Evening Times, and compared current Gers hitman Alfredo Morelos to Ibrox legend Ally McCoist, suggesting that the Colombian has a unique kind of mental strength that enables him to keep getting into good goalscoring positions.
The 22-year-old joined Rangers from HJK Helsinki in the summer of 2017, and he has gone on to score 24 goals in 56 appearances in all competitions thus far.
His fine form for Rangers coincided with a call-up to the Colombia national team, but unfortunately for him, he missed an absolute sitter during his debut against Venezuela at the weekend.
McCulloch, however, shared his belief that Morelos possesses a unique kind of mental strength that is required to make it at the very top, when speaking exclusively to the Glasgow Evening Times:

“So, Alfredo Morelos missed a glorious chance on his Colombia debut, but you can be sure that he will put it right out of his head and get himself in there again at the first possible opportunity. Rest assured, those sort of misses happen to all strikers. Goodness knows, I missed sitters upon sitters in my time playing up top, but the important thing is that you forget about it as soon as possible. Morelos, just like the great Rangers strikers like Ally McCoist, has that mental strength to keep getting into goalscoring positions and that’s why he will consistently get amongst the goals for the club.”
Next up for Rangers is a home clash with Dundee on Saturday, and Morelos will be looking to fire his side to a much need victory, following their Old Firm disappointment last time out.
