Lee Johnson saw the Owls first-hand a fortnight ago.

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson was full of praise for Sheffield Wednesday and – through gritted teeth – Kieran Lee, during an appearance on Football On 5: The Championship this weekend.
The Owls have endured a stuttered start to the new season, although three wins from their last four matches have seen them close the gap on a play-off place to two points.
Johnson’s side became Wednesday’s second victims of that run almost a fortnight ago, having succumbed to Kieran Lee’s winner deep into stoppage time at Hillsborough.

And the midfielder was at it again in his next home outing, scoring twice to inflict a 2-1 defeat on Nottingham Forest.
Despite their August woes, Johnson expects Carlos Carvalhal’s side to kick on this season, using May’s play-off final defeat as inspiration.
“I think so (they will be better for last season’s disappointment),” the Robins boss told Football On 5: The Championship. “I think they’ve got the players sort of integrated into the manager’s system. I love the way they play.

“Lee, the little ******, popped up three or four times against us on Tuesday night, (scored) a late winner – he just keeps bombing on. It’s so difficult, when they throw caution to the wind, to deal with.
“They’ve got some really good players and, like I say, I just love watching them play.”
Wednesday travel to early-season strugglers Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday, still in search of their first win away from home this season.
Traditionally, it is these sorts of fixtures that prove difficult for the Owls, who failed to beat any of last season’s bottom three on the road, losing twice.
