Leeds United, Aston Villa and Bristol City are reportedly interested in Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
Tom Heaton is a goalkeeper reportedly in demand, with Leeds United, Aston Villa and Bristol City all claimed to be interested in the Burnley man.
According to The Express, Villa want to sign Heaton from Burnley in the January transfer window, while The Sun has credited Leeds with interest in the 32-year-old former Manchester United prospect.

While Leeds and Villa have yet to confirm or deny their reported interest in Heaton, City manager Lee Johnson has suggested that he could look at bringing Heaton back to the Ashton Gate Stadium.
The former Cardiff City goalkeeper – who earns £35,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – spent the 2012-13 campaign at City before moving to Burnley.
Regarding signing Heaton in January, Johnson said, as quoted in The Bristol Post: “We’ve got three there and come January if we’re looking in that position to improve as we always are looking to do and we look at every position then it’ll be based on what’s the alternative as it always is.
“Every question is whether you’re going to sell someone for £5m or £10m or bring someone is on a free becomes what’s the alternative.”
Moving down to the Championship
With Heaton struggling for playing time at Burnley, one suspects that the goalkeeper could be tempted to take a step down and join a club in the Championship.
Leeds and Villa are more attractive propositions that City, as the Whites and the Villans are genuine challengers for automatic promotion to the Premier League.
However, Johnson refusing to rule out moving for Heaton should force Leeds and Villa into action, as it shows that they may face competition for the Burnley goalkeeper from City.
