Glasgow Rangers defender Lee Hodson wants to impress new Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard.

The 26-year-old right-back has stated that he wants to work hard in pre-season and make an impressive on new Rangers manager Steven Gerrard.

Hodson told The Daily Record: “It has been difficult at Rangers not getting as many games as I’d like.
“With a new manager coming in though it’s a fresh start for everybody. All I can do in pre-season is the best I can and see if I’m in the manager’s plans.”

Fighting a losing battle?
Hodson has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2016, and although the right-back has played well on some occasions, his time at Ibrox has not been a great success.
With Rangers having signed Jon Flanagan on a free transfer following the full-back’s departure from Liverpool, there is going to be even more competition for the former Watford defender.

Last month, The Scotsman named Hodson among a number of players expected to leave Rangers in the summer transfer window, and one should not be surprised if the Northern Ireland is offloaded by the Gers before the start of the 2018-19 campaign.
Rangers will be aiming to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
